“…’til I’m not thirsty.  I just wanna sleep ’til I’m not tired.  I just wanna drive ’til I run out of highway into the purple sky…”

So I’ve been kicking these lyrics around for a while.  Like a LONG while. YEARS.  And just recently I was able to wrap my mind around why they’re so powerful to me.

It’s not just because they’re KR lyrics either.

And you know, it’s not even JUST those lyrics.

It’s the entire track.

(It’s called Purple Sky and you should TOTALLY check it out if you haven’t heard it.  Don’t worry.  It’s not angry or offensive!)

It’s about finding yourself in a respite from the storm of life. Being in a place of clarity, no matter how fleeting, where you can actually put your finger on what would rock your world RIGHT. NOW.

You’re NOT running in circles trying to meet deadlines or spew forth your brilliance before it gets lost in the shuffle of phone calls and doctor’s appointments.

Somehow, by some miraculous alignment of the stars, you find yourself “back in town” with “nothin’ to do”.

So here’s my question-

If you found yourself in that magical place, what do you wanna do?

What simple thing in life do you miss the hell out of?

Imagine that just for a bit, all the C.R.A.P. in your life is gone.  The proverbial veil has been lifted.

What would bring you sheer joy?  Not results or connections or attached strings.  Just something simple that would light you up from the inside out.

I’d love to know your answers!  And here’s that song if you wanna hear it!
